What. The. HELL. How can you play so well in the first period and so poorly in the second and third? Yikes! :(
The Ducks were without Pronger, who was serving his one-game suspension for his headshot on McAmmond (and let me just say that as a repeat offender in this year’s playoffs, I think he should have gotten at least three games. The League keeps saying they want to eliminate headshots, but they never will unless they crack down on offenders). McAmmond also missed the game, and Eaves was inserted into the lineup in his place.
Ottawa had goals from Alfie (his 12th, on the powerplay, with 0.3 seconds left in the period) and Heatley (his 7th). They outshot Anaheim 23-21 (but had outshot them 13-2 in the first period, so that tells you how the rest of the game went…) and went 1-for-4 on the powerplay. The Ducks were 0-for-3. Heatley led the team with 6 shots on goal. Fisher had 9 hits. Meszaros and Volchenkov each blocked 3 shots.
The Sens were guilty of a number of poor defensive plays in the second and third and gave the puck away far too many times, and couldn’t turn up the offense when they needed it to bail them out.
The series shifts back to Anaheim with the Ducks leading 3-1.

where is the best place to write to in order to complain about the fact that normally the league escalates in their discipline and they didn't in this case. I definately want to say something, but don't know who to address in this.

i've never like brett hull but he's really wearing the AssHat loud and proud these days. he's got the biggest hate on for alfie it's ridiculous. tonight he was still harping on alfie's supposed "kicked in" goal which wasn't kicked in... acting all high and mighty like he didn't score two non-goals in the cup finals with dallas all those years ago... i recall a puck that went in off his high stick on one goal and a foot in the crease on another. oh but he's perfect and alfie intentionally kicked in that goal and, of course, purposefully tried to injure scotty niedermayer. oh and of course mcammond's injured not because of an elbow - which was, of course, perfectly legal - but because he's prone to concussion and, thus, a lightweight when a 6'6", 220lb goon comes rushing at him with his ridiculously enlarged and plastic elbow elevated at head level.
and he's a kiss ass too... everything Grapes said tonight, hull repeatedly chanted: "i whole-heartedly agree!!" just kiss him and get it over with.
ack and ack and frak-a-doodle-do. who gave him a contract to talk on the air????
/end rant re: brett hull
:)
i needed to get that off my chest.
